No More Room in Hell 2 — Updates & Patch Notes

No More Room in Hell 2's development ran through three major update phases — Genesis, Revelation and Armageddon — before the full 1.0 release on August 11, 2026.

Armageddon (1.0) Patch Notes

The 1.0 update, codenamed Armageddon, was the largest in the game's history. Highlights:

  • New mode: Survival — wave defense across three maps (Flooded, Lighthouse, Night of the Living Dead)
  • New map: Raven Rock — the sixth Scenario/Objective map, set in an underground military bunker
  • New mode: Solo — practice and learn maps with zero permadeath
  • New item: Rescue Beacon — a high-end loadout item that prevents the next Responder loss
  • New currency: Merits — earned free through Weekly Assignments
  • New system: Weekly Assignments — four tasks each week, resetting every Tuesday
  • New tutorial: guided onboarding covering combat, objectives and inventory
  • Achievements: full platform achievement support (35 Steam achievements, native trophies on console)
  • Difficulty rework: Beginner (timed respawns), Normal (objective respawns), retuned Hard and Nightmare
  • Economy: full progression reset for launch; Credits + Merits dual currency
  • Quality of life: Unstuck button, match reconnect, UI improvements
  • Over 8,000 community-driven bug fixes and performance optimizations

Launch Week Hotfixes

Two hotfix rounds were announced during launch week (August 13, 2026):

  • Hotfix #1 (early next week): various crash fixes, memory issues with heavily customized Responders, controller scheme fixes, server stability, customization material fixes.
  • Hotfix #2 (week of August 24): respawn fixes in Normal, additional respawns before extraction, higher sensitivity cap, more crash fixes, memory optimizations (low-end PCs and Xbox Series S), PS5 texture fixes, achievement fixes, Beginner air-drop fixes in Solo.

A new Oceanic server in Australia was also added for players in the region.

Roadmap: Genesis & Revelation

The road to 1.0 followed two major update arcs in 2026:

  • Genesis (0.8) — a gameplay-focused refresh: melee feel, Responder perks, and the moment-to-moment flow of combat.
  • Revelation (0.9) — the last major release before 1.0: firearms overhaul (every gun retuned around caliber identity, recoil, handling and attachment value), clearer progression, UX improvements and broad bug fixing.

Both updates were shaped directly by community feedback during Early Access, which began October 22, 2024.

Known Issues & Fixes

Tracked issues as of the launch week include Nvidia hitching (fixed by driver updates), memory issues with customized Responders (avoid logo/pattern clothing until hotfix), GeForce Now crashes after ToS, and controller UI focus bugs.
